Senior Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d)

The security group within DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the security of the local and electronic environment of Galileo. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating the relevant work in the group with regard to analytical activities, the regular analysis of security risks as required by the Galileo client and the verification of the implementation of adequate security measures, as well as conducting security audits of national and European authorities.

In particular, the future jobholder will be responsible for the following activities:

• Review and analysis of day-to-day information security procedures and applications with prior analysis of project requirements in the cyber security area
• Detection and classification of system anomalies in the local security environment, creation of a solution concept
• Identification of potential threats to the information and communication systems, preparation of a response plan, review of implementation and development of a signature-ready and efficient operational solution, followed by escalation in case of breaches
• Processing of the security risk register through the ongoing identification of new cyber security risks and threats
• Preparation of training materials and regular training of project staff in the context of IT security
• Regular reporting and fast escalation to the Management in case of a concrete threat situation in the Galileo IT Security area
• Regular review and documentation of the system against the security requirements defined by the customer; in the event of deviations, creation of appropriate corrective concepts and implementation
• Definition of cyber security processes and workflows in the engineering area
• Definition of new projects and technical solutions in the cyber security area
• Further development of the tools used in analysis and reporting
• Creation of new projects and technical solutions in the cyber security area
