As a core team member of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp), DLR GfR mbH operates and manages the constellation of Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen in Germany (GCC-D) and Fucino (GCC-I).
The position is based in Oberpfaffenhofen (Germany).

As a GCS Maintenance Analyst, you will be supporting L2 maintenance engineers to perform corrective, preventive, adaptive and perfective maintenance activities for the Galileo maintenance, validation, and operational environments.

The chosen applicant will carry out the following system administration and supporting activities for the Galileo Control Segment (GCS):
  • Monitoring and system administration of the L2 maintenance environment
  • Support to the L2 maintenance platform set-up and upgrades
  • Support to the L2 back office team with logs collection, assistance to remote troubleshooting and deployments
  • Provide onsite support to OPS and L1 teams for troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Support and perform the validation, and update of L2 procedures and manuals
  • Support and perform analysis and fixing of infrastructure problems


  • A professional training with 5 years’ experience or a Bachelors (equivalent) Degree
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the administration and troubleshooting of IT systems
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux environments and VMware vSphere
  • Familiar with ticketing systems at a user level
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python)
  • Familiar with network concepts (routing, switching, VLANs and firewalls)
  • Familiar with Databases Management (Oracle/MySql/PostgresDB)
  • Self-learner
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members
