DLR GfR mbH offers reliable and secure services in the aerospace sector. On behalf of the European Commission, we operate and monitor the Galileo satellite constellation at the Galileo Control Center (GCC) in Oberpfaffenhofen.

YOUR MISSION:
- You will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing requirements for the development and extension of our systems. You will help to drive the ongoing development and optimisation of the networks.
- In this role, you will be working at the interface. You will play an active part in collaborating with internal teams and customers.
- You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the documentation (system landscape / network infrastructure), as well as for administering the Windows and Linux server environments.
- In addition, you will implement the defined guidelines and measures, ensuring the compliance to all relevant IT security policies and standards.
- As Infrastructure & Security Engineer, you will monitor security-related incidents, which involves also the analysis of the relevant security logs.
- In the case of a specific security threat, you escalate the matter to the Hosting Security Manager.
- You will play an active role in shaping our medium- and long-term cyber strategy by working with us to further develop and improve the existing IT security framework
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
- You have successfully completed your Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / IT with a specialisation in Networks, IT Security or comparable. Additionally, you have certifications and qualifications in the field of IT security.
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of IT security and a profound knowledge of how to use virtualisation software (Proxmox, VMware).
- Experience in network technology, particularly in the configuration and maintenance of switches, firewalls and other network components is a must. In addition, you have experience in the administration of Windows and Linux servers.
- You can rely on your practical knowledge of network security technologies and common threats as well as on your knowledge of national legal requirements and international standards related to information security.
- For this role, you bring in a good understanding of complex situations and a solution-focused mindset, as well as good negotiation skills.
- Discretion and reliability are important for you.
- You have a good command of the German and English language.
