YOUR MISSION:
As a core team member of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp), DLR GfR mbH operates and manages the constellation of Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen in Germany (GCC-D).
The Maintenance Engineering team inside the Galileo Project is the driving force behind the staggered implementation of the Level 2 and Level 3 maintenance of the Galileo Ground Infrastructure (Galileo Mission Segment, Galileo Control Segment, GNSS Service Center, Galileo Security Monitoring Center).
As a Galileo SECMON AIV Engineer in Madrid, you will be responsible for performing corrective, preventive, adaptive, and perfective maintenance activities for the Galileo maintenance, validation, and operational environments. You will be in the leading team for the handover of the maintenance activities from the design authority to GSOp.
The chosen applicant will carry out the following system integration and verification operations for the Galileo Security Monitoring Center GSMC, GSF, SOIF and SECMON AIV activities:

As a Galileo SECMON AIV Engineer in Madrid, you will be responsible for performing corrective, preventive, adaptive, and perfective maintenance activities for the Galileo maintenance, validation, and operational environments. You will be in the leading team for the handover of the maintenance activities from the design authority to GSOp.
The chosen applicant will carry out the following system integration and verification operations for the Galileo Security Monitoring Center GSMC, GSF, SOIF and SECMON AIV activities:
- Delve into particular subject expertise related to the Galileo Security Monitoring Center and understand the end-to-end Galileo System.
- Assist the OPS/L1 and L3 teams with problem resolution, system restoration, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
- Perform all security maintenance procedures in the ground segment manual autonomously.
- Deliver the L2 maintenance training needs analysis and training plan.
- Support the major Ground Infrastructure Releases incorporation activities.
- Support for the design of end-to-end integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for Galileo systems.
- Support for the PRS service of the Galileo system and security performance.
- Analysing and fixing software problems.
- Participation in engineering meeting boards.
- Actively support all milestone reviews related to the L2/L3 maintenance handover.
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
- Master´s degree in engineering or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Experience providing guidance and leadership to novice systems engineers
- Experience with VMware vSphere virtual machines
- Experience with Linux and Windows environment
- Willingness to work in a multicultural, dynamic, and challenging environment
- At least two years of experience in:
- Operations or maintenance of satellite monitoring and control software suites
- Ground systems testing and validation
- Understanding of the Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS), including its operations, architecture, and implementation
- Knowledge and experience in the security/cyber area, including: SIEM design, tools, and the concept of security operations for a Security Operations Center
- Knowledge of application server deployment
