YOUR MISSION:
As a Galileo AIV Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for performing corrective, preventive, adaptive, and perfective maintenance activities for the Galileo maintenance, validation, and operational environments. You will be in the leading team for the handover of the maintenance activities from the design authority to GSOp.
You should feel comfortable working with heterogeneous ICT environments, enjoy working in agile teams, and continuously learning to be up to date with new technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Delve into particular subject expertise related to Galileo Ground Segment and understand the end-to-end Galileo System.
- Assist OPS/L1 and L3 teams with problem resolution, system restoration, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
- Autonomously perform all maintenance procedures of the segment manual.
- Complete the L2 maintenance training needs analysis and training plan.
- Support to incident resolution and anomaly root cause identification.
- Support the major Ground Infrastructure Releases incorporation activities.
- Actively support all milestone reviews related to the L2/L3 maintenance handover.
- Coordinate and support with L2 colleagues from other segments.
- Support the continuous service improvement initiatives from a technical point of view.
- Maintain and evolve the maintenance and troubleshooting platform.
- Provide inputs to Configuration Management activities; Mentor new L2 maintenance engineers.
The position is based in Oberpfaffenhofen (Weßling, Germany).
YOUR QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's or Master´s degree in engineering or equivalent
- At least two years of experience in Operations or maintenance of complex ICT environments as well as in Ground systems testing and validation.
- Experienced using Linux and Linux scripting
- Experienced with virtualization technologies such as VMWare or Docker
- Troubleshooting experience
- An advanced level of English (at least C1)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of automation tools: Ansible, Kubernetes, Selenium
- Software/Web development experience
- Knowledge of network configuration and design.
- Availability to support on-call service.
- Experience providing guidance and leadership to novice systems engineers.
